The FIRST egg
We got our first egg!!! There is such a difference between an egg and an egg!!! One buys eggs from the shop or the farmer. Fine. But when our hen which we bought 20 days ago finally laid its first egg - wow- it is such a difference. We bought two beautiful Amrock hens. They are turning into tame ones. Slowly.

good winter egg layers?
I took the course on here which was awesome as well as a few other videos and articles that the community has been so kind to provide for me. Any other suggestions for a good winter layer. Im on Long Island NY so our winter months last around 3 months. Or should stick with a breed thats a good all year round layer?

best place to buy chicken coop
I am looking on amazon right now. I see one that is fit for six chickens. Before I make any decisions though any suggestions? Building one is not an option because I can't do it and wont be able to find anyone to build one for me. Also if the description says it will fit 3-5 would shoving one more in there be a big deal?…

which breed would be the best for maximum amount of egg production?
Hi. My name is Michelle. I am from Long Island NY and am planning on starting my first chicken coop. I am nervous but excited. I would like to know which breeds would be the best for egg production. I want fat birds so they can't hop fences.
