Herbs for Memory
I’ve been concerned about my Dad. He’s starting to do some concerning things; Impulsive driving choices and forgetting things. Does anyone have experience with treating memory and early dementia signs with herbs?

A new way to look at herbs.
This is a super short article, and doesn't really go in-depth into anything.. So, sorry in advance for posting "fluff" lol, but I found it fascinating to see how the herbs look under a high-res microscope - https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/2019/08/see-tiny-factories-that-put-taste-and-aroma-in-herbs-spices/…

Extra strong herbs and natural medicine
I have found that gardening in the desert really concentrates the flavors of your herbs and vegetables. For example, some years ago I grew icicle radishes that ended up with a heat rating of about 6 out of 10. My current basil plants have a mouth "sting" and strong flavor that is impressive. Ditto for my mint plants. I…

Beyond elderberry syrup and vinegar--what else?
I've got a TON of elderberries this year. I've made syrup and vinegar from them. I know I can make jelly, but that still won't use all of them. I figured this group would be a great source of additional ideas. What else can I do with them?

Rooster eye infection, what to do
I was not sure where to post this. One of my good roosters was pecked in the eye (or got something in it) and now has a huge yellow infection in it. I considered poulticing it with plantain, and maybe something else, but can't for the life of me figure out how this could be done on a rooster's head. Any ideas?

When you can't wait for a tincture...
A couple weeks ago I fell.. and I fell hard. It must have been the hardest I've ever hit in my life (which is saying a lot coming from a klutz like me who is no stranger to falling and is known to trip over her own feet). It was one of those times where time just stood still for a minute after I hit because the pain was so…

Does eating fatty foods aid with CBD absorption?
I read an interesting article about a study this morning and wanted to share it with my friends here! Here were a few of the main points: "A University of Minnesota study, published in Epilepsia, examined whether eating high-fat foods after taking CBD increased the body's absorption of CBD" "Compared with fasting, the…

Goldenrod
I'm interested in knowing how others are using goldenrod. I have used goldenrod and bee balm tea for sore throats and it also helped with a cough I couldn't get rid of. I've read that it is good for the kidneys. What else can it be used for?

🦷 Natural Dental Care 🦷
I spent a decade of my life working in the dental industry. Needless to say, I also spent a decade regurgitating the "official" story so to speak. Basically, I just repeated what I was told to say. With that said, I must say one thing I did like about the dental industry is they definitely focus more on prevention through…

Plantain salve
Hi Friends, Watched a great youtube video about making black drawing salve with plantain. I plan to try this and will let you know what I think. I make a lot of salves but have not done it this way. Kathryn

Neighbors who use pesticides on their lawn.
I live in an suburban area with nearly a half of an acre. I believe in organic, pesticide free gardening. My concern is that my neighbor uses some kind of chemical treatment of their lawn. I see the chemical truck parked outside of their house every month. I am afraid that my organic gardening is not really organic. How…

Gota kola
Does anyone have experience in growing, harvesting and consuming gota kola? I was thinking either eating it raw or making tea. It does grow wild here in Australia but there are a couple of other similar looking plants, so I'm a bit confused. Is there a definitive characteristic for certain identification. I've looked on…

Growing onions
I would love some tips or advice for growing onions. I've tried several times but only get very small bulbs. I've tried different locations, different soils, but still they don't get very big. What's the secret?

My experience with Ashwagandha Root
I wanted to share my recent experience with Ashwagandha, on my path to becoming intimately familiar with medicinal herbs. I'm finding this wonderful little root to be extremely intense. Or maybe the recommend dosage was just too much for me. Either way, the effects are tangible and undeniable. Within two days I noticed the…

Natural bug repellent recipes
I have an Ashwaghanda plant growing inside, and I see little tiny white bugs all over it. I am growing this for medicinal purposes and don't want to pay a horrendous amount for an "organic" bug spray. Does anyone have a recipe for something that I can spray on the plant that will not smell that bad but will kill the bugs…

Top Medicinal Herbs
I am just getting started on my venture using herbs as medicine and would like to draw on everyone's experience who has been using them for a while now :) If you had to pick your top herbs to have on hand, which would they be? What do you use them mostly for? How do you store them or prepare them for the best effect?…

Yellow dock

A pleasantly surprising (and pain saving..) use I found for CBD Freeze Roll-on (Hint: ☀️☀️☀️)
I want to share my story of triumph over agony! So I was kind of an idiot a couple weeks ago and let myself get a terrible sunburn. One that you wake up from two days later in excruciating, non-stop tingling pain. It was all over my neck, back, and chest. I tried EVERYTHING. I tried the natural remedies. I was desperate…

Be sure to shake those CBD oils before measuring your portion
I had difficulty taking my oral dose of CBD oil because of the terrible taste. I later found out that I should shake the bottle, and suddenly the oil tasted okay. I just needed to mix the medicine first. BTW: I have only noticed a subtle effect from my CBD oil; that's okay because I am taking it to reduce arthritis pain…

My DIY Aloe+Honey Face Mask
After only sparingly taking leaves from my 1 aloe plant.. My aunt surprised me with another, huge aloe (that has 3 little babies, too)! So, now that I had some to spare (and my old one needed a trim anyways), I decided to made up a batch of face mask/moisturizer with what I trimmed off. I'm a beginner in real home medicine…

Aronia Berries Anyone?
So we purchased an Aronia berry bush last year to add to the diversity of what we grow, and it has produced fabulously this year! Does anyone else grow these berries? What do you do with them? Since they are so high in antioxidants, I wanted to try and make a tincture out of some and then infuse others in a honey syrup…
