Can Anyone Tell Me What This Is?
When I dug my peppers up to over winter in some pots I found these growing with one of the peppers. I've tried looking online at pictures but haven't found it yet. I have them in water for now. Here are a few pictures:

I got some Wild Lettuce seeds from TGN (I believe it was when I got @Marjory Wildcraft), when they came, I planted them last year, but nothing came up then this spring I started to see something growing It looks like lettuce, is it Wild Lettuce?

Mystery plant thread
Someone on TGN suggested that we have some fun "mystery plant" posts. So here is one. Can you identify the plant in these pictures? Partial credit for the general plant type, but for full points you have to get the specific variety right. I'd like to ask @gardneto76 NOT to give the answer. :-) Hints: edible perennial,…

Is this young Lady's Mantle?
I planted some lady's mantle, and it's the only plant that makes sense to me to be in this flat. It is also in a few neighboring plugs and not in the row I labelled. Sometimes seeds migrate, but I also remember putting some type of seed in a place I didn't want it & so, moving it to where I did. I wondered if I had missed…

Know your dandelion ID
Below you will see two different dandelion look-a-likes. Their medicinal properties are much different than Taraxacum officinale. I think the first would certainly give you cotton mouth and both would taste nothing like what you would expect a dandelion to taste like. I'm not sure of the Latin name for these, but consider…

Silverweed
I found this plant on the edge of a parking lot a few days ago. I think next time we are in the area, I will dig a plant up & bring it home. I really dont think the business will miss a "weed." All parts are edible, but I still need to find out if it is safe for livestock & how invasive it might be (it spreads by rhizomes).

Jewelweed Identification
I noticed that we didn't appear to have a post for people to be able to identify jewelweed. I had someone ask me, just today, about just this subject. This site gives an excellent summary along with good pictures pointing out what to look for.

Does anyone know what this plant is?
I didn't post it in the mystery plant thread because I have no idea what it is. It was growing in one of my garden beds this winter. Over the past month it has become a small tree. I don't remember planting it. A friend tried to use his plant ID app to see what it was but nothing conclusive. It was growing where I planted…

I don't remember what we planted! SOLVED!
My gotu kola died, so I had an empty pot. I remember we put something in it. We can't recall buying anythin "exotic" lately to eat. I do not recognize it. 😕 Germination time has just been less than a week to about one week. I totally forgot about it until watering time. The seed coat is still present on top. I am stumped!…

Mushrooms?
I found this in my back yard growing on a tree. I’m not good at identifying plants or fungi. Can anyone tell me what they are? Are they poisonous?

Can Someone Identify these Trees?
One of the Care centers my dad was in had the prettiest trees and I am not sure what they, does anyone know what trees these are? The first picture is of the tree with bright orange flowers and the second picture the tree in the forefront is the tree with yellow flowers and in the background is the tree with orange…

Another plant to ID
We were out observing a lot lately as we cleared/cleaned up a small area. Here is yet another plant we see around here in the bush (by poplars, chokecherries, saskatoons & dogwood). Any ideas what it is?
-
Mushroom ID
I am looking for a guess on this one. We have no intention of eating it. It is quite large and was found under poplars in a stand of chokecherries, saskatoons & dogwood. It shows no gills on its underside. We found 4 in the small area. My one mushroom book didn't appear to have a match for it. I put my felco pruners beside…

What is this shrub?
It has alternating leaves, grew in the shade, has juicy berries the size of large pincherries, smells like highbush cranberries when the berry is crushed, and has 2 seeds. Found in Zone 3, Canadian Prairie.

This is red clover, right?
I didn't plant this in that spot. I've never seen it growing anywhere around here before. I planted seeds 2 years ago in the old garden, but never saw any sign of it there either. But, now that the cows aren't grazing in this other area, here it appears. This is certainly clover, and I'm pretty sure it's red clover. I'm…

Mystery: Wanted Plant ID
My son-in-law is missing eating leaves of a plant that he grew up with. His mom doesn't remember the plant and he only has a description and a picture in his mind, which of course, nobody else can see. He would like that plant again. Here is what I have: It was planted in a flower bed, not far from some steps. It had sour…

Help to ID a weed
This weed is so carrot-like. Is this biennial wormwood? Are the plants on the left side of the picture younger versions of the same? It is on the north side of a building, do full shade, in sandy soil.

slender nettle
Slender nettle is a lot like Stinging nettle but without the big nettle bite. I love this plant and found it quite by accident over in my raspberry patch. I had to ID the plant, came close with a wildflower ID book but took it up to my local audubon the get the final ID. I had learned about stinging nettle from a herbalist…

Please help with identifying plants in my garden
Hello, I am quite new to gardening, and have a number of weeds (?) in the garden that I can`t identify. If they are edible or have a medicinal/ household usage, then I certainly want to use them. If they do nothing useful, then I will be disposing of them. Please help in identifying if you can. I am grateful! For…

rumex?
Hello, this plant is growing in several places in my garden. Three different apps all tell me that it is a rumex, but each app suggests a different species. Does anyone know what this is? Thank you!

Can anyone identify this plant?
It volunteered in my greenhouse and is absolutely gorgeous! A local herbalist identified it as burdock but now that it is bigger, I think that was a mistake. That is why it got to become this great monster. I’m in the southeast.

Can you help me identify my trees, please?
Our property of 10 acres has some trees and plants that I'm unfamiliar with. I understand that this isn't the ideal time of year to try to be doing this but I figure I could start with the coniferous and evergreen trees now then in the spring tackle the rest. I have used several books and apps to find out what they may be…

What variety is THAT?
I was talking with a friend today and she mentioned that she was growing luffa and had the seeds coming out of her ears. "Amazing!" I replied. "I thought they would be coming out the the luffa! What variety are you growing?"

Weeds & Invasives ID Sites
This could be a good thread to post our weed ID sites. I recently found a good one for California. http://ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/weeds_intro.html Do you have any weed specific sites that you can access for your area?

ID this Plantain
Hey...I got this far. 😄 I know it's a plantain, but it is a much lighter green, & has larger, pointer leaves than any others here and it's veining is somewhat different. The leaves pull as a plantain does and it has the same basic habit. Its a massive and beautiful plant. Is it just a super specimen of the broadleaf…
