I'm going to be away for a bit, sadly.
Hey there all. I'm afraid I'll not be on here as much for a month or so. I've been dealing with some health issues that are currently monopolizing my time. In fact, I'm waiting to hear back from Dr's tomorrow about another more serious problem that has just been noticed. I so enjoy being in the forums, learning & laughing…

Have not been on the site for ages
First, I was ill, not serious, since Oct. '22. I slept 20 hr. a day. After researching, I found out it is a side affect of med for my epilepsy. At least no pain involved, just all the work piled up. Guess it will not go anyplace either. The drs. have tried all the drugs for epilepsy, and I am allergic to almost all of…

What works the best for Neuropathy?
I use Toe extenders and Arnica cream and that has helped me some. The Acupunture also seems to help. I do take Vitamin B (liquid). (I often forget) to take the Vitamin B. The last time I tried to purchase some they were out. Consistency is the key for this. What do you do that helps with Neuropathy?

Physical therapy for the Joints
I finally finished up the four appointments for physical therapy for the hip and knees. I am amazed that it made so much difference so quickly. I have been doing my exercises every day and was very surprised at how quickly I progressed. In six days, I was able to walk better and felt more energized. Now I am able to garden…

Water retention before period
Good old horsetail - equisetum. Not only good for teeth. Today I read a short article about equisetum helping against water retention before the period. It is recommended to take equisetum tea or Globuli (Equisetum D6, 5-5-5) some 5 to 7 days before the period starts. and to avoid coffee, black tea, products with white…

Any other women out there also experiencing strange menstrual changes post-Covid?
I'm about five years post-menopausal, and about four months ago I started cycling again!! I'm looking for answers, and for other women who may also be experiencing odd changes in their menstruation in the post-Covid vaxx era. My actual "flow" is limited to spotting or heavy spotting, but the rest of the symptoms that I…

Opinions on using HRT?
A friend here in Japan, who is going though menopause, just asked for my opinion on HRT. I told her that I would look into it and get back to her. She is in her 50s, and is dealing with hot flashes and trouble sleeping. She read an article about using hormone replacement and asked for my feedback. It didn`t sound like a…

Hormonal headaches
Does anyone else get hormonal related headaches? I am also wondering if the reason for the headache affects the treatment? (As in, the same symptoms may need different treatments to cure the problem.) For example, I tend to get a headache for several days in a row right before my period starts, but I also get a headache if…

Menopause...what do YOU take?
I have a friend who is having some issues with a preformulated mix of herbs. You can get this brand almost everywhere. This is from an herbalist. I feel like it was a bit of a copout on his part. I would hope that if I pay big money to an herbalist, that I would get a more personalized result. I am just curious what women…

Menopause: Menstrual Flooding
Here is a really great article on this subject. Hysterectomy, which can lead to other problems such as prolapse, is often the conventional answer when it isn't always necessary. It's kind of like C-sections...not needed as often as done, and potentially dangerous. My thoughts are that one should try these friendly herbs…

Fosamax or an Herb?
I went to the Doctor the other day (family practioner, MD) the other day and he wanted me to take Fosamax (which is for Osteoporosis) not Osteopenia. I told him I would like to try an Herbal Supplement. Do you have any suggestions?

Materials Needed to Make Garden Bed
I need to solve a problem I have with that 11 inch wide space and about 12 foot long garden space. I want to make it more of a raised bed. This year I used a compost to help the soil and it worked well. One side is the apartment base (ground floor) and the other side is a curb. The outside of the apartment is stucco.…

Mild Tonsillitis & Pregnancy...safe herbs?
@torey I have a question for you. Our oldest gets a touch of tonsillitis every Christmas. She says it's annoying, but never severe. I thought she had outgrown it, but obviously not. That brings me to this question or what would be safe for her to use if this occurs this year during her pregnancy? I would have suggested…

Numbness on Bottom of Feet
I tried to talk to the Doctor (MD) about the bottoms of my feet but he used his tuning fork and if I could feel the vibrations of it and I said, "yes". He had me walk in the small room. And you guessed it nothing else. He threw up his hands, "I don't know", he said. I didn't feel the numbness when I was taking L-Glutamine.…

Mallow for UTI scarring.., search for case study
I know this is a long shot, but I recall reading recently that a young woman had had serious UTIs resulting in scarring of the urethra. Surgery was recommended, but an herbalist recommended Mallow tea and all was healed. I cannot remember where i read this - I've been searching through books and articles with no luck. Does…

Magnesium levels & cramping
Most of our woman members here will know that if your magnesium levels are low, monthly cramping is a real thing. If your levels are high, it can reduce or eliminate it. This got me to thinking about labor. Essentially, it is cramping, not just of the uterus, but many more muscles working in tandem. Many women are…

Help for Morning Sickness
Do any of you have some tips for morning sickness? A relative of mine is pregnant and she has severe morning sickness all day long and it is difficult for her to keep down any food. Her doctor has prescribed medication, which only helps a little. I would, however, love to offer her something a little more natural.
