What herbs to use for an infection that is eating away jaw bone?

a blanket recommendation would be to use colloidal silver in a mouth rinse, maybe include tea tree oil in it or Oil of Oregano and swish it a few times a day.

One way to strengthen the immune system is to have a well-balanced diet. To this end, you can try taking certain supplements that will make up for any nutritional deficiencies in your diet. These include:
  • Vitamin C – Take up to 500mg twice a day for a week. Reduce the dose if you notice any gastrointestinal side effects.
  • Vitamin E – 400 – 800 IU per day
  • Vitamin A – Take up to 15000 IU per day (avoid if pregnant)
  • Zinc – Take up to 50 mg per day
  • Probiotics – Take up to 3 capsules containing acidophilus and bifidobacteria (up to 5 million organisms per day). This will help replenish the store of good bacteria in your gut that can get depleted due the use of antibiotics.
Herbs that may help strengthen the immune system and fight infection include:
  • Garlic (Allium sativum): It has antibacterial properties that may help fight infection. It can be eaten raw or cooked. Garlic extract capsules are also available but those taking blood thinners such as aspirin should avoid these capsules.
  • Echinacea: It is reputed to be a powerful immune booster but should only be taken under medical supervision as it may interact adversely with other medications.
  • Goldenseal (Hydrastis Canadensis): It has antibacterial properties and can be taken in doses ranging from 500 to 1000 mg thrice a day.
  • Siberian ginseng (Eleutherococcussenticosus): It can help provide a boost to your immune system but it should only be taken under medical supervision.
  • Astragalus (Astragalusmembranaceus): Another immune booster, it should be taken in doses of up to 7 g per day.

Any recommendations as to the best places to get these? Locally I don't have much choices until I get my greenhouse up and built so I can start growing a lot of these for people locally. Again thank you so much for the info!!

Mountain Rose Herbs, Banyan , Frontier and Starwest are  great sources for organically grown and sustainably responsible herbs.    Gaia herbs has great liquid extracts of the herbs as well.  As for the vitamin and probiotics for vitamins make sure they are organic , non GMO with no fillers (do not buy supplements from places like Walmart or GNC)  and the probiotics i would make sure the combination is at least 100 billion CFU for post surgery..same with the supplements you'll need to take more than the recommended dosing on the bottle.  drink lots of bone broth and support healthy bone growth with diet and herbs..and make sure your diet is clean so youre not working against your body with the probiotics. -H

Wow Heather, so blown away by your help and support.

Jim, just curious, was the infection / jaw deterioration from a dental implant or failed bone graft?

Heather, have you tried working with Horsetail - equestum hymale - yet?  It's really a super herb for strengthening teeth and bones. Like most herbs it's not immediate, but after a few weeks my teeth sure do feel strong.

Marjory, the infection was actually caused by an impacted wisdom tooth where the gum receded back enough to allow bacteria to get in there and cause the infection. The had to remove a lot of the jaw bone that was eaten away. Everything that Heather has told me to get has worked awesome! I am so thankful that she spoke up and let me know about these wonderful herbs!

yes i have used horsetail (my mom has broken her hip last year with level 3 osteoporosis  we needed to grow and heal bone quickly)..horsetail was one of the many  herbs we used along with cannabis and red clover ..some gemmotherapy, turmeric milk and some other supplements she showed new bone growth on a simple x-ray in 3 months.,
