Im very interested in seeing this project as it goes along.
Wondering if the holes mean there are insect eggs? Will you be storing them where they could freeze to eliminate any eggs?

Did you post up a recipe for brining apples? I saw it somewhere and I am going to try that for this weekends project.
But now I can't find the thread or the recipe...

Hi Marjory
I posted a general recipe under the "apples for livestock feed". I used pears and left out the cherry leaves and tarragon, and these were still good months later.
