Elderberry Syrup

My family and I make our Elderberry syrup with Ginger and Cloves.

Ginger is good for aiding digestion, reducing nausea (I used it just a couple of weeks ago for that purpose) and also for fighting the flu (the cause of my nausea). And a tip I've just learned for those of us ladies, it also soothes menstrual cramping. For every two-thirds cup elderberry, add two tablespoons ginger or ginger-root.

Clove is wonderful for your mouth, as it suppresses bad strains of bacteria. We use it before and after dental work as it also is a natural painkiller. It also aids digestion.

I've also read that you can use thyme, wild cherry bark, rosehips (I miss those guys! We don't live in an area where they grow wild anymore), orange peel, and hibiscus.
