Quality Herb and EO sources

Mountain Rose Herbs is my go to for herbs I don’t grow myself. They use organic practices when possible.
Be wary of herbs grown in Europe, some European countries still use leaded gasoline which can contaminate the crops.
Check out Mountain Rose Herbs, they have a great website!

I like Floracopeia's essential oils and flower essences.
For herbs I like MRH, Frontier Coop, Starwest in an emergency, Banyan for most of my ayurvedic herb needs and dragon pharma are all great herb shops.
For powdered mushrooms I like Fungi Perfecti

Thank you so much. I had previously checked out Mountain Rose Herbs but being the novice I am I was unsure. Will definitely look into the others as well. Thanks again.

I've used Mountain Rose too for both seeds and already grown items (for tea, supplemental nutrition). DoTerra for EO has been my only experience. There's been some insinuation on the internet that DT is not organic necessarily, but I didn't know of others besides Young Life. Will look into Heather's sources.

I have also used Mountain Rose. I bought seed from Sow True to grow herbs and medicinal weeds that are organic. I plan to plant these and use that as much as possible, such as dandelion root, calendula (flower seed is organic from Sow True), and about 10 different herbs.

EO's are hard for me, because it's difficult to know what's what and since they are so condensed the contaminants would also be condensed, right? I've tried all of the EO's mentioned, except for Heather's - will have to check it, and one called Florihana. I liked the Florihana and not just for the beautiful little tin jar it comes in!

Oh, and herbs - Mountain Rose as well, but I also use Frontier or Starwest, which I may have to reconsider since I've been learning more on this site. I also buy on Etsy for obscure
I'm on a mission to grow more. Haven't placed an order yet, but Strictly Medicinal Seeds seems awesome.

Thank you all for your feedback. It can seem overwhelming at first.

I love strictly medicinal seeds!
and yes EO are the most highly concentrated botanical in the "natural pharmacopeia" compared to homeopathic preparations which contain the least amount (if any) of original material (not necessarily the least powerful just made with the least amount of raw plant material)
with that said anything that would be carried and potentially concentrated would have to have the same or close, depending on the quality of your distillation apparatus, vapor point. Essential oil distillation leaves behind the volatile oils, distills off the rest..so depending on how any given contaminate is at the chemical structure level would depend on whether or not its part of your end product. Just because its part of the original plant doesnt mean it carries through to the Essential oil being made, (use Frankincense as an example, the sought after compound for fighting cancer, Boswellic Acid, is not present in the Essential oil, just in the resin and oils made from infusing the resin)
SO making sure the company you are purchasing oils from is conscientious of the environment, chemicals , pesticides and herbicides etc is a good place to start. Floracopeia, like I mentioned before is an amazing company, their oils may be a little more expensive but they are WORTH every penny, on the flip side I tend to use very little EO in my practice and personal life simply because its just not a very efficient use of raw materials IMHO, i reserve putting EO in peoples protocols for when the equivalent of a pharmaceutical prescription is considered.
