Growing Zone Maps

I like the idea!  So many times when someone posts a problem, I have to wonder where in the world are they?  Will what I say be the same for someone in Florida or Australia?  So from zone 5B I am pondering getting ready for winter and hoping it doesn't come unexpectedly!

While growing zone does give you some idea of the growing conditions it is pretty limited. Growing zone is determined by your average coldest winter temperatures. For growing annual vegetables rainfall during the growing season, length of season and monthly high and low temperatures can give you important information when helping someone figure out what to plant or what why crops are not performing.

Asking folks to give growing zone plus general location would be much more useful than growing zone by itself
