Looking for a Natural face cream

I’m sure there will be lots of recipes. My favorite oil combination is equal amounts of Shea and coconut. Infuse with herbs that fit your needs. Mine always includes calendula. Add a bit of beeswax to harden it up, although with Shea and coconut the amount isn’t too critical since they are solid oils. Then add essential oils if you want a fragrance. I usually use peppermint and rosemary. If you want a lotion and not a salve, blend with water while still warm. I’m a salve fan so someone else will have to tell you the water ratio, or there really are hundreds of YouTube videos on the subject as well. Good luck. It’s super fun and addictive to stop using commercial products. I haven’t bought a product for cleaning or personal hygiene for 7 years and feel so much better for it.

Thanks very much I'll try it out. Agree, YouTube is interesting, still it takes time and expertise to find good informations. For example some claim coconut oil to be toxic which is completely non-sense. By face cream I've little to no experience what ingredients to use or not so my research isn't useful right now. So my take to ask here also.

Thanks I'll check it out -
the only thing Id like to say about using coconut oil on the skin is the molecular structure of coconut oil is to large of a molecule and doesnt get absorbed by our skin but rather it works like Vaseline to create a barrier..for some people that already have dry, or acne prone skin coconut oil is further drying and can cause more acne amd causes natural sebum production to slow down possibly drying the skin further and has a comedogenicity (poor clogging) rating of 4 out of 5 (5 bring the highest/worst)
So coconut oil isnt always great for all skin types. With that said, Ive always been a proponent of healthy skin is from the inside out..so eat the coconut oil by all means!

Great suggestions. I'm always looking for new healthy options to try out. I just can't bring myself to use products with ingredients I can't pronounce or can't identify.

This sounds simple, but I use coconut oil and add essential oils: geranium, tea tree, frankincense, bergamot, etc. You can just use coconut oil or another good oil.

I just read Heather's answer and yes, I had something like that about coconut oil. I don't know if that is much of a problem for my skin, but I may switch to shea butter or jojoba oil. Thanks, Heather

I just use coconut oil too. Some times I add stuff to it but I usually just use coconut oil. My skin soaks it up like a sponge.

I wonder if the coconut oil would be a good choice for eczema and rosacia? I have read that both of these conditions do better with a skin barrier rather than a lotion type application.

@peppy
for some yes it will work, not necessarily because it creates a moisture proof barrrier but because coconut oil is anti inflammatory and anti microbial among amny other great things, but eczema and rosacea are most efficiently treated from within in my clinical experience. anything put on topically (organic yogurt and raw probiotics are also great topically for both issues) is only going to address what you see topically not the systemic internal problem and both eczema and rosacea are both issues with the internal terrain and ones ability to eliminate toxins effectively.
