Preserving Bread and Butter Pickles

I just finished preparing Bread and Buttler Pickles with a recipie from the early 1900s. The recipie doesn't tell me where to store them. My brain says the pantry should be good for at least a year but, that's just my brain and I can't always trust it (if you know what I mean). Does anyone know if the pantry is okay or if I need to keep the unopened jars in the fridge?

Did you water bath can them and they are sealed? Safety-wise, I would only keep jars of pickles on the shelf if they have been properly canned and sealed, and the recipe used complies with modern guidelines of acidity, etc to make sure they will be shelf stable and safe to consume after being stored there. When in doubt, stick them in the fridge and store them there.

Thank you sooo much! I'll be using a new recipie for the rest of my pickles ... one that goes all the way through storage. Do you have a favorite canning guide?
