Does eating fatty foods aid with CBD absorption?

I read an interesting article about a study this morning and wanted to share it with my friends here!
Here were a few of the main points:
"A University of Minnesota study, published in Epilepsia, examined whether eating high-fat foods after taking CBD increased the body's absorption of CBD"
"Compared with fasting, the amount of CBD in the body was four times higher after the high-fat meal and the maximum amount in the blood was 14 times higher, the findings showed."
""The type of food can make a large difference in the amount of CBD that gets absorbed into the body. Although fatty foods can increase the absorption of CBD, it can also increase the variability as not all meals contain the same amount of fat," said Angela Birnbaum, a professor in the College of Pharmacy and study co-author."
"Study co-author Ilo Leppik said increased absorption of CBD can lead to lower medication costs."

Very cool! I hope more studies are done on CBD absorption rates, especially in context of how they can lower medical costs by reducing the amount of CBD being needed for treatment.

@Jimerson Thanks for the great info. The last company I bought CBD oil from suggested consuming it with fatty foods. Someday we will have quantified information.
-
@shllnzl Yes! More studies to pinpoint what the exact effects are would be great. I assume it will take into account different human anatomies vs different types of fats vs how much of those fats vs the dosage and makeup of the CBD being taken. A lot of factors, but here's hoping!

@Jimerson Super interesting! Thanks for sharing! :)

I just read the label on my liquid Vitamin D3-K2 bottle and it too says take with a fatty meal.

I think overall I'm mostly just excited that some.. any research is being done on CBD in the United States, now, with restrictions being lifted left and right.

@Jimerson thanks for the information. I find I'm using CBD more and more. Just used it to keep 5 semi-feral kitties calm during their confinement after their spay/neuter surgeries.

@merlin44 You're welcome, I was happy to share it! But you can't just go mentioning 5 kitties without showing us a photo of them! : )
