Copaiba essential oil
Is any one familiar with this eo and if so, comment regarding your thoughts about efficacy and side effects?
Thus, whether or not recommend it.

Here are two of the sites I checked this morning, but they differ a little especially on the potential dangerous side effect of food poison potential.
It looks like an amazing eo, but hope someone has enough experience on the eo to clarify that risk probability, and add anything thing else different or just pertinent to use. Especially for inflammation, migraines, and infection prevention.
Thanks for any and all input.

I have the oil but have not worked with it much. I too would love to hear anyone's experience with it. Thanks for the links @silvertipgrizz , I will check them out.

Okay I read the articles. I have to admit that the use of essential oils internally is not something I endorse, especially if the plant is not normally used for food. Essential oils are extremely potent and concentrated, and I don't recommend using them undiluted on the skin except for the rare need. When an oil is rubbed on the skin it cans be detected in the lungs within a few minutes so they can definitely reach "into" the body. I use essential oils in a number of ways but try to limit my total daily usage so as not to incur any untoward effects. That being said, I totally need to try copaiba in my skin care regime and maybe in my pain relief blends lol.

There are many more links I just didn't have the time to look at so I will post them as I have time to read them.
The company deTerra I think it's called prolly lists it as my daughter has been looking at their company and after a conversation we had previously, the next day she asked me about copaiba, for which I never remember hearing about. The main concern I have is the one article listed a serious side effect as being related some way to food poisoning. A huge red flag for me. And the other article said little to nothing about that.
Certainly worth exploring more before purchase, and my question and suggestion to my daughter is that if she decides to buy this see if she could return or exchange if she has any allergy issues with it. The cost adds up and very high if you find out after one or a few applications you can't use it.
Thanks for your comments and I hope alot more will join in regarding this eo. It has a lot of benefits for my needs as well.

Please tell your daughter to really research which ever company she buys from. There are a lot of companies out there that recommend down right dangerous practices, dilute the oils and may or may not tell the buyer, charge an ungodly amount because they are basically a pyramid scheme, tell the buyer that their non-organic oils are better than buying organic oils etc. When she buys an essential oil put a single drop on a piece of paper. Although they are called oils they are not greasy. When the drop dries there should be no grease spot, only the bit of color that the essential oil has. Like anything, we should exercise due diligence. That being said, I adore essential oils and have been studying and using them for 20 years. I hope this oil is everything you are hoping it to be.

@silvertipgrizz i use copiba EO in all my natural organic skin care items for sure it’s good stuff. I have also taken it for headaches in a capsule with a drop of frankincense in carrier oil without ill effects and it does work for me. My daughter swears by it as well.

Excellent points. Can you recommend some companies? She has discovered doTerra. Are they reputable? I am only familiar with DR. Axe products, actually him and his teaching videos, as I have never bought from him. The company I buy from and have been happy with is From Nature with Love as I also get other supplies from them. Do you think do Terra then is a good company and their oils are therapeutic grade?
All info appreciated.

@silvertipgrizz honestly from what my daughter and I read about doTerra, it is not one I trust as they employ some of the practices I mentioned. Some that I have bought from with confidence are Prima Fleur, Frontier, Starwest, Mountain Rose, Aura Cacia. There are more but I cannot remember them off the top of my head. But research these as well, to find ones you are comfortable using. I am not employed by any of them lol nor do I have a website that they advertise on 😋. There are so many companies out there now due to aromatherapy's popularity. Happy hunting ☺ I look forward to hearing other people's experiences.

Please consider safety before ingesting any essential oils. One needs to be trained to know what can be ingested and my belief is to start more safely and then build up to it. So, start aromatically but inhaling aroma either from bottle or diffuser. If you get no relief then apply topically but make sure to dilute in a carrier oil. Some essential oils are considered HOT so could burn your skin or mucous membranes. If you don't feel you are getting a good result for your ailment, then only after talking to a person trained in ingesting EOs then take internally in a vegetable capsule.
Think of it this way, if you have a headache - would you go straight for Vicodin or Percosett?? No, you would start by taking acetaminophen or ibuprofen or aspirin - one tablet or two tablets, right? Then if your home dosing does not help you would go to a professional doctor and if needed get something stronger after determining the root of the problem. The same rings true of essential oil use and also of herbal use.
As mentioned in other posts on this thread - research the company you are purchasing your oils from. Most, even the "top two" multi-level companies do not have enough education information out there and they and some of their untrained consultants just tell you to take EOs internally with very little warnings.
I am not against those companies and have used many of their oils but I feel that one needs to have knowledge and be SAFE! in the uses of Essential oils.
