    I use elderberries, but these last two years I've been unable to harvest any because two years ago a forest fire destroyed the underbrush that kept the creek running clean. We depend on snow runoff for irrigation. Although we had a record snow, the creek was so filled with sludge, the irrigation pumps couldn't slog through it all. Next year should be better. But it's nice to know about the pine needle cough syrup. We have LOTS of pines and spruce around here.
