Does Anyone Know...?

Occasionally when I am typing up a New Discussion the screen "flips" and my discussion disappears. Sometimes it posts itself when it is still incomplete when this happens, other times I can never find the incomplete discussion to get it finished.

Anyone know how and why I can either prevent this or how can I get it back to finish it?

I haven't had this happen, but similar.

Sometimes, if I remember, I use a memo/notepad type program to write my response, then copy/cut & paste to the website. Then I have time to put my thoughts together intelligently and the website can't lose my thoughts.

@Laurie thanks Laurie for the suggestion. I can see how that would work.

I'm just afraid the formatting could be wrong when it is posted over there. Using notepad, I've often noticed it does not format the same as many websites.

Oh well, we can't have everything.

Grey, sometimes my computer gets wonky in similar ways. I don't know what causes it or how to stop it.

I suggest that if you write something in Notepad or Word first, and then do a cut and paste, the formatting may not come through, but you can then format in the post and it will be easier than composing the whole thing and losing it. Hope this will help.

@Iris Weaver yes after hearing the comments here I gather it is "all in the wind/weather/fate of the God's" etc.

In other words learn to live with it!

So I will have to work on myself to get me to accept the double-duty performance I am going to have to accept just to get one thing accomplished. And yes, doing the same job twice is totally against my constitution but until I'm willing to become a compete total computer nerd (which will never happen) I'm just going to have to sacrifice myself and do it or put up with the frustration, without complaints, when the stars aren't aligning and making this work the first time I write it on these screens.

And yes, I will admit it is a lack of control issue which I do have a problem with. Seems like it should be so easy to me... type it up, add an image if I want and hit Post.

But those God's occasionally say otherwise... hum!
