GROW: The Book
I received my most favorite seed catalog in the mail last week. First one, of many, many for 2020. Anyone else receiving them yet?
I have received two so far.
@VickiP wow, 2 already? If we could just get them a week or two earlier we could add some things from them to our Christmas wish list.lol
Baker Creek and Turtle Tree Seed. I am making plans!
First one, Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds arrived last week. Felt like I did as a kid when the Sears catalog came. Winter Solstice tomorrow, the days will be getting longer minute by minute and planting time will be here before we know it.
Why is it called solstice?
The word “solstice” comes from the Latin word “solstitium,”a combination of sol, which means sun, & stitium, which means to stop. The latter word refers to the sun appearing to briefly stop moving at the moment winter arrives,
also at the moment summer arrives — which is why the start of summer is known as the summer solstice.
Yup! Baker Creek!
Nope, I've not received a Baker Creek yet. Mine was Seed Savers.
@VickiP Does Turtle Tree have a website? I've not heard of them.
@merlin44 Oh I know! Feels like a happy dance occasion. I got mine out of the mailbox and smiled all the way to work.
@rainbow I love it! You are so full of information.
@dottile46 here is their link: https://turtletreeseed.org/
Thanks @VickiP I'll go have a look.
I have 2! West Coast Seeds (BC) & T&T Seeds, (Winnipeg, Manitoba).
I am waiting on my favorites, William Dam seeds (in Ontario) & Ritchers (Ontario). Plus a few others from across Canada.
