We have a shelf just inside the library door for books that have been donated. They only ask a donation, and I always have to look when I go in.

Today I gave them a dollar for a paperback "Giant Book of Garden Solutions", by Jerry Baker! It claims to have 1,954 Natural Remedies to Handle Your Toughest Garden Problems!

Awesome ! @Mary Linda Bittle - Happy for you. Our county library does the same thing, & there's about oh maybe 1000++ books & other materials in that section, right inside the door. But the price-stickers on anything is 25 to 50 cents.

So at our Christmas-get-together a year ago, the usual chatter in the over 40 'Orchard' group centered around the usual subject of complain RE their bodily woes..., UNTIL I had had enough ! . They know I can only take so much whining, before something had better GIVE, lol

So I relied on 1 of my usual pattern-Interrupts 🙂: Instead of dealing with bug-problems, how about we have (not only 1) but an ongoing class about Soil-health, & Instead of dealing with our problems, how about we have a class on Gut-health, etc, etc; - but this time I chose the subject of YOUTHENING 🤩 LOL

Now who wants to talk about this, when it's sooo much more fun to whine, complain, & better yet see who can Beat... who with their bodily complaints. - So I said: at the Olympics have you ever Noticed : that crap doesn't get awarded medals. - So how about we FOCUS on getting healthier, & see who can beat who with their bodily improvements... - of course for all but 1 person, the rest said: yeah, that's totally impossible, & ... like you can't even find any truthful books on that subject. I said: "How much are you willing to bet? I can.

Sure enough, in this Library-section, I got as proof these 4 -

1994 = "Ageless body, Timeless mind: the Alternative to growing old" https://www.amazon.com/Ageless-Body-Timeless-Mind-Alternative/dp/0517882124

2005 = "Younger by the day: 365 ways to Rejuvenate your body" https://www.amazon.com/Younger-Day-Rejuvenate-Revitalize-Spirit/dp/006081618X

2002 = "The RealAge diet: Making yourself Younger by what you eat" https://www.amazon.com/RealAge-Diet-Make-Yourself-Younger/dp/0060086122

2007 = "YOU staying YOUNG: the Owner's manual to extending your warranty" https://www.amazon.com/You-Staying-Owners-Extending-Warranty/dp/0743292561

And of course, this year, as they lapsed back into their old/rotting/BORING chatter, I passed-around these 4 books, which I got for the total of $2 :)

I love the library used book sale! I have gotten so many great books. Oftentimes there are classic Back-to-the-Land titles from the 70's. They can be very useful. I have also gotten herb books, field guides and cookbooks for a song. Don't forget to check out the children's books. You might find old scouting manuals or in depth craft books that could be helpful if things get really rough. In particular, I remember a book that told how to dig clay and make a kiln.
