I found this viewpoint interesting. It might explain why we still don't see a lot of toilet paper in the stores.

Maybe a good solution for those without is to contact a business that orders from wholesale companies to see if they can access toilet paper supplies for a larger group of people in this way. It might not be the most fluffy, comfortable stuff, but it's something.

A wholesale paper products distributor in my town advertised their willingness to sell to the public. They politely requested that the public not overwhelm their business because they were not set up for retail sales.

I keep plenty on hand. I buy a 9-12 pack every other month whether we need it or not. By having done so I keep about 50 rolls in stock. Since it’s just me and my husband we are okay for a good while.

We live in rural France so try not to go shopping every week, we try to have 6-12months supply of everything and top that up once every 1-3 months, something we've been working at over the past 5 years. So, the lockdown didn't catch us by surprise. Knowing we had food in stock, we concentrated on getting all the parts organised for our solar and rainwater projects, leaving the supermarket dash to those more in need than us. I too think the pre-occupation with the loo rolls is very, very bizarre. Perhaps it's a knee jerk scared shitless adjustment reaction. If there's a shortage Mullein leaves do make a soft and free an alternative! LOL.

@Lesley My mullein plant died, but I found seeds that I had saved. I forgot that I had them. It wouldn't be of much use to me for a while, though!

Currently, local stores limit how much toilet paper I can buy at one time.

    We are allowed one multi-pack.

So I look at all the Scot multi-packs. They vary from 6-pack, 12-pack, 20-pack, and 30-pack.

Of course, I pick up the 30-pack.

Dad hits Sam's Club for a 30 pack whenever we get down to 10 rolls. Works out to about every 3 months. We have 2 bathrooms with 2 rolls in the cabinet and 1 on the dispenser for each bathroom.
