Hey folks! Stephanie here. I'll be here throughout the day to answer any questions you have!
-
Hi Stephanie, wow, I learned so much from this presentation. I hadn't realized how many other ways there was to use the herb.
I grea a few plants in my backyard two years ago - I'm not a heavy smkoer - and I've still got jars and jars of flowers. So nice to have something to do with them.
Also thank for the info on carbolating? Is that how you spell it?
-
This is very timely. We just found a few random plants on our property that we just bought. I'm guessing a few random seeds dropped from previous owner smokin' doobies 😉
I've never smoked it ever, but I'm not really against it. I'm glad to have a good look at using the whole plant.
Thanks!

@Marjory Wildcraft Decarboxylating! :)
-
@Anthony you're so welcome!
-
Thanks for doing this!!
A few of my Garden Goddess friends & I are exploring & experimenting with growing our own plants this year, mostly with the idea of finding ways to use the plants medicinally in our lives & now... in our kitchens!! Had no idea we could also use the roots! Fascinating.

Great presentation. Thank you I learned a lot. Went over and was exploring your site but cannot find the recipes from the presentation. Where do I find those? Growing is legal in my state, just have not found a place to buy seed yet. Hoping this year we will be able to start some. We don't smoke but do like the health benefits and are happy to learn so many ways to take advantage of them without having to smoke it.

Such a fabulous presentation and learned so much about the root!!
Thank you so much!!

Hi, my name is Patricia. I have a lot of medical ailments and pain is my number one thing I deal with every day all day sometimes, so I have been looking into a better way to deal with it. Now I was wondering how you can tell a female from a male plant? Can I use a dehydrator to dry the plant? I have 2 plants growing right now and have noticed some differences but still at a loss as to which one is a female or male and another questions. Do I prune off the bottom leaves so all the energy is focused on the top plants? Thank you in advance. Your presentation was very informative. I wished there were more pictures to really see how things are done. I'm a visual learner what can I say but I still know what to do.
-
Hi Staphanie,
I'm sorry but I am not able to get the slides of your presentation. I have done what you said to do and still nothing not to any of the web addresses.
-
Hi Stephanie, thanks for your practical knowledge and presentation on this subject. On the decarboxylation section, you suggest cooking in the oven at 240 degrees, I'm assuming Fahrenheit ? Also with the infused oil and the double boiler, no temp suggested. I've been led to believe that decarboxylation should be more gentle than aggressive, as the cbd and thc can be destroyed, it that true?
I live in Australia, where its still illegal to grow your own but hopefully soon our govt will wake up to the benefits of this wonderful herb.
-
Very well done presentation! It's illegal where I live, but we've looked into CBD oil, and this was very interesting! Love the recipes included. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Stephanie!
Marjory, I hope you're enjoying your time in Puerto Rico!!! Hope you can be allowed to tour the forests!!! 😏

@tracycamo52 Hi Patricia! You can't tell the males and females apart until they start to mature, at which point the females will start to grow flower beds, and the males will start to grow pollen sacs. I believe there is a cultivation presentation later in the summit that will likely have pics to show you!
You can use a dehydrator, but this can damage the terpenes. I prefer to air dry upside down in a well ventilated dark dry space for the best result.
Be sure to look for Brian Gandy's presentation where he will likely go into more detail on pruning strategies. There's lots of opinions on this!
-
Hmmm, did you submit your email address at www.cannabotanicals.net/homegrownfood? The slides will be emailed to you if you do that and then confirm your subscription. @tracycamo52
-
@jodienancarrow Yes Fahrenheit. You don't want to exceed 300 as that is the temp that THC will vaporize and/or degrade into other compounds. CBD isn't as sensitive, but it will also start to degrade at that point I believe.
I like to keep my oils low as well, typically around 160 Fahrenheit for at least a few hours.
-
@Leza you're so welcome! Yes, depending on where you live, high THC plants may not be legal, but thankfully high CBD hemp is gaining acceptance quickly!
-
May I ask for your power point of this presentation? I could not find it how to get it.
-
Is there a copy of the slides and recipes that you provide?
