A gem of a find!

Had a great day yesterday, awesome winter weather at the start of the long weekend. Decided to do a few garage sales in the area. Found a couple of bargains, including a really old piping set. Now I realise I can cut the corner of a plastic bag but these beauties I couldn't let pass.

You'll have fun with that - great for deviled eggs, canapes, etc, too!

What fun! Does it say where there made?
-
@blevinandwomba I think it says made in England. I found another on Etsy and could read the stamp on the tip.

You got it@dottile46 made in England, they look old, not sure how old. Says Number 1703 on the box.

So true! Although, I've found that when I use piping tips for deviled eggs, I have to use full-on, heavy-duty icing bags with them. I haven't yet figured out how to get the "filling" absolutely smooth, so any time I've tried to use regular zipper-lock bags with an icing tip, the tip will clog and the bag inevitably splits down the side. With icing bags, I can add enough pressure to push the filling out past the clog without the bag splitting.
And, this is making me want to make deviled eggs tomorrow. :D

Oh, that is so fun! I just got a set of tips for really interesting floral patterns (they call them Russian Tips, I dont know if that means they are traditional icing patterns in Russian cooking or not, I just liked the looks of the patterns).
I cheat and use a stick blender when I want my deviled eggs or other things to be smooth! I have this fantasy about a solar powered battery box that I can charge up and then plug my stick blender into...

Fun find. It is nice to have garage sales again with the easing of COVID restrictions.

Love deviled eggs! Pressing the filling through a fine meshed sieve helps to make it easier to pipe.

Oh, awesome!
