Insect Cop: Ant control

    My daughter and I have been having a lot of black ants that really crave water. She gave me a recipe for the ants to take back to the nest and it kills the rest. So I proceeded to put out some small containers of the mixture and now the ants are gone for the moment. 1/2 cup sugar, 1 1/2 Tablespoons Borax, and 1 1/2 cups water. My daughter has used this recipe for a long time and swears by it. We live in Oregon in the Willamette Valley.

    Boric acid works for us

    Boric acid is the first thing I lay down when I used to move with the military. It kills everything.

    But I just read somewhere that ants were pollinators too so I guess I'm not too worried about them in the garden.
