I am so excited! My Morakniv from the TGN store https://store.thegrownetwork.com/collections/gear arrived today!

Have any of you used one? It is a sharp sucker & is supposed to be pretty much indestructible. You can be sure that I'll put it to work!

    Fun - love mine!

  • Mora knives are the best! Cheap, sharp, and last forever. I've used them for at least 15 years. One of them even found its way into the knife block in my kitchen, where it makes a great utility blade for cutting fruit and vegetables and anything else I need it for.

You made the right choice getting the blade in carbon steel. Not only is it cheaper, but carbon steel will hold a sharp edge longer than stainless steel, and over time it develops a lovely patina that protects the blade. If you want, you can hurry the process along with any acidic solution. I use vinegar, but other people have fun wiping mustard on the blade and it does the trick.

Here is a picture of my Mora knife, I think this blade is more than ten years old.

    Enjoy your new knife!

@seasparrow32 I certainly will. I live patina on things. That is something else to be happy about!

    I love my Mora knives!

All the students at Wilderness Awareness School (Duvall, WA) use them! Even the kids learn to safely use knives in class.

I got one with a bright orange sheath because I loose things. My second one is a bright blue one with the fire steel in the handle. You can't beat the price or quality for a good all-purpose knife.

I don't have the trees to graft onto, so, not me.
