Coffee Seedlings: Does anyone grow coffee from green coffee beans?

I’ve looked, and coffees are suppose to be slow and finicky as a seedling. I ordered a few types of coffee that i like and are grown at high elevation, since I live in the High Desert of Albuquerque. All the coffee seems to be grown oversees, don’t see much people grow it in America, except Hawaii. Anyone familiar with it?

I have had a couple of coffee plants as houseplants. Unfortunately, I killed both. I think that the second time was due to the extremely dry air we have had. If not for that, I think I might have been more successful. My second lived longer than the first.
You should be able to grow these indoors & get somewhat of a crop from them, but it takes time.
You would want to research proper soil composition & humidity/water needs.
I think that I have heard of starting the plant from green coffee beans, but they have to be very fresh.

I have also had coffee plants as house plants but like @LaurieLovesLearning, they have died each time. I am also blaming it on a lack of humidity in my house. It can get very dry here and I have wood heat so that dries out the air even more. I have seen articles about people getting coffee beans from house plants but they have to be pretty big for that to happen.
Good luck with your efforts and please keep us updated.

I looked into coffee a few years ago and decided it just wasn't a fit for my environment. But, that research lead me to yaupon holly. Yaupon, I can grow, and it makes a caffeinated tea. Granted, I'd rather have coffee... but beggars can't be choosers!

I have tried to grow coffee beans twice with no success. I can't figure what I am doing wrong.
