cartern72! I'm slightly jealous of your bee balm! I have a little bee balm plant that is about to bloom. I can't wait for it to spread! Did you know you can make tea out of the petals? Here's a link https://practicalselfreliance.com/using-bee-balm/

That is one of my favorite wild flowers - it grows all around my home in the Appalachian mountains!

My bee balm reseeded itself and was part of my no work part of the garden for years. It disappeared several years ago and now I will have to get it back in the garden

Beautiful pic @cartern72!
Susun Weed has an article about bee balm at: http://www.wisewomanmentor.com/wise-woman-ezine/1359693 She has one of her herb walk videos on bee balm but I can't find it even though I just watched it a couple of weeks ago. She explained that the red bee balm is better suited for teas and uses one flowering stalk to flavour her comfrey nourishing herbal infusion. The lavender variety has a strong oregano flavour and scent and can be substituted for oregano. The wild bee balm which grows in my area is more medicinal.

I did not notice this when I posted last night! Is this common? There are several doubledeckers!

The lavender colored bee balm grows all over near our place in the country. The smell is amazing!

Absolutely beautiful! I had a nursery for years and sold a ton of bee balm but never planted any for myself. I'm in the city now so after seeing your picture I'm thinking I need to get this on my list.
