What and When to Grow for Fall
I've missed the boat in the past, but not this year! I'm just starting to think about what I will be sowing for the next few months for fall. The hard part for me is predicting when gaps will open up in my garden and also remembering when it's the last call for a veggie I don't want to miss. I thought I'd share what I finally came up with to help me plan this as I go.
First, I made a list of fall plants I'd like to grow, such as Bok Choy and Broccoli. Then I went to online to find when the agricultural extension recommends we plant in my area. I made another list by month of what to plant, and put a star next to it if it's the last chance to plant something. This way I can prioritize what needs to go in the ground. For example, this month there are 13 or 14 things I like that I can start, but I know this is my last chance for sweet corn, beans, and broccoli.
This has helped me SO MUCH!
