Cordyceps

I just started taking cordyceps about a month ago...it's not something I would have chosen for myself as the idea of a fungus grown in a caterpillar is a bit gross. However, I guess the cordyceps tinctures are made with the fungus grown on rice, which is a bit more palatable. I have had to take a short break from taking it due to a cortisol test I need to get done, but while I was on it (every other day) it seemed to help my energy. Any other experiences?

@stephanie447 I'm a huge mushroom fan but never taken cordyceps. I drink powdered mushroom tea, usually chaga in the morning, to get me through the day and reishi in the evening, to help me relax. I eat mushrooms at least every other day. Ho Shu Wu is also good for energy levels(japanese knotweed). I do what I do, as I believe mushroom intake, strengthens my immune system and helps combat breast cancer risk. I will do a bit more research on cordyceps.

Thanks for sharing. I am not a big mushroom fan in terms of food (I hate them) so I've had to get over a bit of a dislike of them to consider them as a good herbal supplement. There's another mushroom my herbalist wants me to try - a red mushroom (not reishi) but I have yet to order it due to the cost. I will check it out soon, however.

@stephanie447 Which "red mushroom" is it? It might be something local.

Definitely not local! LOL. It is rare and comes from a single mountain in China:

@stephanie447 Looks very interesting. I know they are having difficulty cultivating a couple of the medicinal mushrooms and they can only be harvested in the wild.

I used to take Cordyceps mushroom. I took it to help increase oxygen because I compete in mountain bike races. It seemed to help. My daughter continues to take it because she has asthma. She feels that it helps her as well.
