Thanks, @Denisha Cole! We had some rain finally, so it is a good thing. Today, we have sun.

My day started early with being unable to sleep. Tiredness is plenty, but sleep is elusive these days.

We are waiting on our monarch to come out of its chrysalis & hatching out a few more chicks to add to our 6 already here. Next after that...guinea keets! 😁

Good morning everyone! We are in for another hot day so outside chores were done early! Now I am working my day job in the AC. Hope everyone has a wonderful blessed day.

Good morning all of you. Hope you have a wonderful outdoorsy day.

We are expecting 109 degrees F today, so I will be doing indoor chores.

I did go out this morning to deep water some of my "crunchy" landscape plants. The original landscaper put some plants in that just barely survive the southwestern sun in their location; I figure if the plants die, then I will re-evaluate what to plant there. I have been speculating on whether I could plant cactus and still get near the house walls if/when the house needs repainting.

I am researching viable cactus or agave plants for several problem areas around the property.

Pfft! I turned my head for just a couple seconds & missed it! 🤦‍♀️ I have some early pictures just after it emerged, though.

@LaurieLovesLearning I learned to watch for it to start wiggling. Then it’s all hands on deck to watch it emerge. It is such a beautiful thing to see.

@Garden Girl We were watching for that. We watched for 2 1/2 hours. We never fully left it alone. I turned my attention to something for a couple seconds...and there it was.

We will try yet again.
