Pasta with fresh tomatoes, squash, onions, and...depends on what I find. lol
-
I'm baking a lasagna... one of my favorites!
-
Hate to admit it, but we've been working at fixing our retirement house after putting in a regular day at work, so it's a frozen fish curry from a supermarket. Sometimes you just gotta.
-
Meatloaf, roasted carrots and broccoli, half a fresh zucchini from the garden (I thought the chickens were fenced out, but the young ones snuck in and feasted on the other half).
i add a bit of extra sage fresh from the garden. :)
-
Grilled hamburgers, squash casserole, green beans😋
-
Cauliflower cake and fresh garden salad
Yummo🤪
-
@jodienancarrow Awesome and does your cauliflower cake have a recipe it shares? 😌
-
@nicksamanda11 squash casserole?
You guys and gals are making me hungry!!!
-
My tastes are strange today. First thing, I wanted a cup of kombucha and a dill pickle. Then, when the coffee was ready, I had toast with butter and pepper jelly... then, I was still hungry and kippers seemed good, so I warmed some smoked kippers in a pan. Now, I think I may have a second breakfast of leftover kippers and scrambled eggs and cream cheese. Probably some leftover bean and french fries for lunch. The soup is bone broth with tomatoes, red peas, onions, garlic and cabbage. Not sure about or supper yet.
-
Fish, veggies, salad and biscuit :)
-
@judsoncarroll4 Are you pregnant? 🤣
what are red peas?
-
@Ruth Ann Reyes yep you guys are making me hungry for what you are fixing...nix the thing I posted lol rof...
-
I soooooo agree!
-
Not that I'm aware of, LOL! I think the bitters I'm having before each meal are affecting my appetite and tastes.
Meant to say small red beans, sorry.
-
Well, I was going to make a delicious (to me) casserole for supper, but I didn't get it prepped this morning like I'd planned, and I was way too hungry to cook it when I got home from work. So, sardines with tomatoes and olive salad(the muffaletta kind, homemade). Not bad for 5 minutes prep.

In the last few months I've discovered a great Israeli/English chef Yotam Ottelinghi. He has quite a few cookbooks out and particularly creative with vegetables. The great thing about this recipe is you can substitute the cauliflower for other veg. I also have changed up the flour to gluten free. Hot, cold its great wherever, whenever. Give it a crack, you'll love it.
-
@judsoncarroll4 and then it'll be time for twelvses....
-
Yep, after elevenses
-
Making homemade 9 bean and ham soup tonight. Maybe some homemade cornbread too.
-
I made pickled beets tonight and a cauliflower crust pizza from Aldi with added veggies. Things have been crazy here lately. Tomorrow I'm thinking about making chicken salad with homemade mayonnaise and roasted zucchini & tomatoes with parmesan cheese.
-
Gee, you guys are almost gourmet cooks! We had homemade potato soup with store bought saltine crackers.
-
@dottile46 potato soup is one of my favorite things. I like to taste the local types wherever I go. So far, my top three faves are from a little restaurant on Hwy 11 in WI somewhere between Racine and the Mississippi, a place in Germany where they still have the straw roofs, and kale-potato-spicy sausage soup that I make occasionally. Now that I am in the "South" (South of the Mason-Dixon Line in the US), I find that all the potato soups have cheese in them. I don't mind a 'loaded potato' soup, but I prefer it without cheese.
a good soup is a gourmet dish! And homemade soup is a really wonderful thing.

I don't really cook the evening meal too often anymore. I am looking forward to being able to do that again (-:
I do make my own mid-day meal, though. Lately it's been simple stuff, too hot to cook. I've been meaning to make homemade sushi for a couple weeks now; one of my favorite rolls is Oshinko. Someone gave me some japanese black horseradish, so I made Oshinko. Now that it is ready, I should make sushi. Maybe tomorrow. Yeah. That's a good idea. I have some nice japanese brown rice that I prefer. Thanks for the idea!

Meatloaf and sautéed veggies from the garden, todays veggies are eggplant, onion, and okra. Naturally some tomatoes and cucumbers.
Meatloaf is one of my favorite foods because the leftovers make great lunch for a few days. And my dog gets a treat of the meat drippings.
-
My dogs enjoy the meatloaf drippings as well. They prewash the roasting pan. Lol
-
Amazing drop in the outside temperature has given my husband the push he needed to start making soups again as he doesn't like eating them in the hot weather. Me? Anytime is a good time for soup. I especially love hot soups with all the leftovers dumped in. Give me a nice hot soup for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I'm one happy worker.

Tonight it's crockpot beef barbacoa https://myheartbeets.com/beef-barbacoa/
spaghetti squash, yellow sweet potatoes, and avocado on the side. Mango for dessert!
-
Meatloaf for me, too! I love a good meatloaf. With mashed potatoes and chicken gravy. Cabbage. Cherry/chocolate chip ice cream for dessert.
-
I made a vegetable mixture using a Daikon radish and top along with herbs from my garden - the first day I put an egg on the top and then a couple days later I made veggie tacos.
-
I'm going to have to agree with this, @frogvalley. Any time is a good time for soup!!!
