Recommendations for seed companies?
I really would like to get some more heirloom plants along with some more medicinal type plants to be growing in my garden next year. Does anyone have any good suggestions for certain seed companies especially for those hard to find medicinal plants?

Being from Canada, my choice is Richter's. But they do ship to the US as well. They have some vegetables and flowers but specialize in herbs. @Ferg has given the address above.
Another Canadian herb company that might be of interest is Ravensong Seeds & Herbs. They also ship to the US. http://ravensongherbals.com/ They carry preparations as well.
Canadian seed companies might be a bargain for Americans right now with the exchange rate.

I get most of our seeds from seed savers exchange. I love the variety and they had everything I wanted in stock. There is also Johnny's seeds and Annies. They are pretty good too. You can find medicinal plant seeds sometimes at Mountain rose herbs as well.

I just ordered a lot of my heirloom seeds from www.sotrueseed.com They were great. Though they are running out of a lot this late in the year.

@tomandcara , @Ferg , @torey , @karenjanicki , @vickeym Thank you all for your recommendations. I'll check into these companies for my garden seeds for next year.

I also find Baker Creek Heirloom seeds to be a nice place to shop. Beautiful catalog.

@timtandme if parkseeds.com is local to you, where are you located?

I'm headed to my county extension office today for some free seeds. New to gardening in Florida, so I'm starting on the cheap. I've saved seeds from my CA garden. Hope they fare well.

Strictly Medicinal Seeds has the largest selection of medicinal plants and seeds I've found.
-
I also have found Strictly Medicinal Seeds to have the best selection of medicinal plants. Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds is one of my favorite seed companies for heirloom plants and the more common medicinal herbs.

@KimMullen and @Tave Thanks for letting me know about strictly medicinal seeds. I had not hear about that company before.
@brownjoelle I didn't know about getting seeds from the county extension office. I'll look into that too, thanks.
