Thicker hair?
I'm looking for some recommendations on herbs or supplements anyone has used with success to thicken their hair. I have a lot of hair, it's very long but the strands are fine and it doesn't have much volume. I have 3 sisters all who have thick hair. I think they got it from my dad. I have hair more like my mother's. I want to thicken it if possible. Has anyone had any success in this department?

I have heard that castor oil, diluted with another oil and applied topically, stimulates hair growth. I have no experience myself.

I have some castor oil in my cupboard :). Thank you for sharing

I wonder if I could combine coconut and castor oil? It might make my tub scary slippery haha but that might make my hair look great :). Thanks for sharing

Hey I'd be ok with that hahahaha. I admit I've always been a bit envious of my sisters thick gorgeous locks. When I had a perm it looked much thicker. I would brush it out so it would be thick and wavy. But perms are crazy expensive and my hair is only a few inches from my butt so the cost is probably far too steep. But man I miss that volume.

Rosie Hicks swore by Sage tea used as a hair rinse. She had thick, black , waist length hair into her 80s.

I have had great success adding ground flax seed to my morning yogurt.
-
Cool I like flaxseed too! How much do you add?
-
That's amazing :). I'm going to be trying some of these things. I'm pretty sure I have sage. Maybe I'll make some up tomorrow. Thanks!

Only a teaspoon full, or a little more. Too much and the yogurt gets too thick to really enjoy.

I was going bald. I started using Biotin and it has stopped falling out and is gradually growing back in.

Ok thanks for the tip! I'm going to add that to my grocery list :).

Thanks. I'll check it out :)

I like the flaxseed idea and growing thicker hair from the "inside out". It seems to get more to the root of the issue. I may try that as well. :)
