Cooking barbecue today

I'll be cooking barbecue over hardwood coals for the next 10 hours. As I'll take a few short breaks to make some kefir and kombucha, eat lunch and such. But otherwise, I'll just be sitting there, tending the fire, reading and picking guitar all day. I have wifi on the porch, so I'll be online if anyone wants to chat.

What an awesome day you have planned! Enjoy!
I won't be chatting but harvesting in unexpectedly balmy weather, and that will be fun, too.

Sounds good!

Since I'm away from home, I had to improvise a smoker - a little "hillbilly engineering". I put a little coleman grill and an old spare tire "doughnut" together and burned it clean before using it. It is just big enough to hold an 8 lb pork butt.

Taking a break from picking food to seeing how your BBQ is going. Looks good!

Where did you get your starter for kefir? I have been wanting to try it. However, my kombucha is neglected, so maybe I should be careful with what I take on...

I ordered a spoonful or so from someone on ebay - turned out to be one of Sandor Katz's friends!
