3 Unusual Super Foods

@Marjory Wildcraft just wanted to say how much my husband and I enjoyed your talk with Stacy on her SuperFood Garden summit. Well done.
We implement all you mentioned except adding eggs shells to bone broth. Next time there will be eggs shells in the heathy brew. π
You did mention a video about your rituals to honour the life of your livestock when the time comes. Is that video available? I have my little moment just prior and would be interested in seeing yours. Thanks for all you do!

Egg shells are good for so many things. I always throw a few in when making bone broth.
-
I have never heard of adding egg shells to bonebroth. I missed the original discussion. What are they added for?
-
I have never heard of adding egg shells either. I do add a touch of vinegar, so that I get more of a bone breakdown.
-
@Tave I didn't taste any difference in the bone broth after adding egg shells. I wonder what the difference is? I do add vinegar to my bone broth. The taste is really different if I don't add vinegar.
-
I don't taste the difference, either. Eggshells are high in calcium and also have magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium. So I do it to ramp up the nutritional value of bone broth. I try to remember to put vinegar but usually forget.
-
The eggshells are not about the taste. They are about the extra minerals and nutrients that is added to the broth. Just strain them out with the bones.
-
I always forget to add eggshells.π€¦ββοΈ And I actually need to make more broth tomorrow because I used the last I had tonight. So I'm going to try to remember to put those eggshells in this time.ποΈπ

soeasytocraft - interesting! What talk with Marjory and Stacy are you referring to? I usually soak my eggshells and greens like spinach to extract the minerals like calcium and make it bioavailable... but this bone broth method sounds much easier... plus getting the collagen from the eggshell membrane - awesome! Would you mimd sharing the link?

... know what I do? Kill critter, cut critter up, cook critter, boil scraps. Eat.

@happy-trails The talk was with Stacy on her SuperFood Garden summit. I think it was for a limited time so not available now. Sorry I have no link.

Here is an interesting link about using eggshells. Inside there is a link to turkey broth recipe.
