You can buy trees and shrub propagating balls for quite a price. They range anywhere from $12 to over $20.

But making your own you can save a lot of to buy seeds and plants with

.

The $1 for two clear christmas ornaments can easily be adapted to fit on a branch and secure.

Theses plastic balls already separate. Drill two holes to fit around the branch, fill with moist soil and tape together on the branch. (Place a diagonal cut on the branch but do not cut totally apart. You want the branch to continue to receive nutrients from the parent plant until it from roots and an live on its own. This acts like a mini greenhouse and keeps moisture and the branch will develop roots.)

Once roots start to fill the ball you can remove the plant, tree or shrub and plant!
