Merry soggy Christmas Eve!

In typical Southern fashion, we have heavy thunderstorms, flash flooding and a chance of tornadoes to usher in an icy cold front. I hope everyone is staying safe and well! I hear there is heavy snow and very cold temps and bad weather in many places right now. Hmm, I think this weather calls for some Christmas themed Irish punk rock .... just for a break from the regular, sweet, spiritual Christmas music...

@judsoncarroll4 You hit the nail on the head! It's been raining all night and today---just now turning to snow. I've been trying to find a Christmas movie that I had not seen----read your post and the Christmas themed Irish punk rock was just what I needed! I admit, I had never heard it before, and enjoyed it!
Merry Christmas Eve!!

So, I discovered the Pogues when I was 13.... Their first 3 albums or so were classics of both Celtic and punk music. I hesitated to post this, because it is a bit rough for some. But, it is like an opera! They were crazy, but crazy good! Enjoy and stay warm and dry. A little Dexie's Midnight Runners would be a nice follow up.

Really enjoyed that, thanks and Merry Christmas Eve to you as well!

We are having a thorough drenching this Christmas Eve! We expect up to 2 inches of rain and the wind is roaring. My girls are trying to get cinnamon rolls made before we lose power. I printed out a stove top lasagna recipe for tomorrow in case we're in the dark. It's not quite like the classic dish, but oh so 2020- adjust and carry on!
Merry Christmas everyone!

I can't imagine getting stuff like that right now! We just had major cold, snow & wind, but it has been very slowly warming up through the day. Tomorrow we will hit a super warm temp of -5°C, still with a cold windchill accompanying it, but it is still better than what we had.
We lost no birds overnight, so that was good news. It is worse though when we have close to melting, then it drops deep into -30/-40°. Then you know you will lose something. That is always hard on any animal. For a few years we have had extreme fluctuating temperatures. Hopefully we have more gradual temperature changes this year. It makes it easier to adjust for everything and everyone.
Have a good Christmas Eve & a great day tomorrow!

Wow that sounds alot like conditions here. Yesterday we had warm temps with tons of rain and dark skies that switched over to ice and snow. It's very cold here now but the snow is very glittery and beautiful. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Just windy, bitter cold and damp here now. It may be "time for the annual airing of grievances".... merry Christmas!

Wow, we had 4-5 inches of snow on Christmas eve. Then through the night we dropped to single digits. Hubby and I spent a quiet day at home and other than fixing our Christmas dinner and him taking care of the critters we took the day off.
Here's hoping everyone had a blessed and loving day. May 2021 be less stressful, and more productive for us all.

This sounds like a Vermont Christmas this year. We had rain on the Eve and all day on Christmas. The rivers were near flood stage. My yard looks more like a pool.
-
Yes, we had rain, too, with a few snowflakes Christmas afternoon. A really green Christmas is rare here. And then overnight our bedroom window froze open, which fine for a middle aged lady like me but not for my poor, longsuffering hubby.

Merry Christmas (belated)! We had snow storms beginning in October then the last couple of weeks it was rain (and wind) enough to knock a tree onto the house two days before Christmas (not much damage, it happened at night and in the morning the day was clear and we were able to pull the tree off (without damage to the porch or house) and get it cut up. Snow started Christmas night and has been steady up to a few hours ago so we are a blanket of white right now.

Merry Christmas to you and your family :). It's 18 degrees here now. Chills you to the bones.

We almost had a white Christmas this year. Thursday last week we got a beautiful 10-12 inches of snow. It almost lasted until Christmas day- then we got the torrential Christmas eve rains to melt it away. On the plus side, the local creek is full; it was dry last week.

I had my first "white" Christmas this year! It snowed and some of it stuck to the grass so I am counting it.
