    Just out of curiosity... some of you have now seen my face, and I wonder if you see a resemblance? This is a portrait of my great, great, great grandfather, just after the Civil War.

    It was good to see you this morning. I have seen your pic and heard your voice but nice to have both together.

    Good for you, starting this Herbal Medicine series. I'm sure it will become a great resource for people.

    Yes, I do see a resemblance. Must be a strong line in your family.

    Thanks, Torey! I am really "running to catch up" on all this. I never imagined that I'd start a little blog and a podcast and suddenly, strangers are wanting to come visit and learn from me.... at first, it kind of freaked me out! But, I can do videos to teach anyone most anything short of a plant walk. And, then it occurred to me that a state park just over the line in TN has cabins for rent, a conference room and even a commercial kitchen.... yes, this is actually doable! So we'll see how it goes.

    Yes, that is my ggg-grandfather Guyton, probably the first representation of the mixed French and Irish heritage. We even share the same uneven eyes, though not the same eye color, and he looks a bit smaller framed than me, but he would have been nearly starving for a decade at that point, and all his brothers and most of his sons were killed in the war. He looks very sad to me. But, he also looks like he could have laughed easily.
