Eye Surgery

I am trying to plan ahead and may not be able to see after I have eye surgery for up to one month. Next Tues February 9th I will be having eye surgery.

I hope everything goes well. My 85 year old mother-in-law had eye surgery and it was a breeze. I'm sure you'll be fine.

@dipat2005 I wish you a speedy and easy recovery. If I were to go through such and experience, I would try to frame it as sort of an experiment with my senses.

Assuming your discomfort is controlled, see how you can best learn from the time. See what you can arrange to enjoy during your recovery that perhaps you would not have done so otherwise. Listen to books, visualize your healing and your sight returning better than you could remember as a child.

Focus on your other senses - touch, taste, smell, hearing, imagination/envisioning.

All will be well.

@dipat2005 I hope that your surgery went well. I have had cataract surgeries on both eyes. It was really easy on me and I could see so much better in only a day. Sounds like yours was a lot more complicated. Will be thinking of you.

I am doing better except for the occasional severe headaches, blurriness of vision and extreme sun sensitivity. I am once again driving my car. My granddaughter has been helping me and also driving the car on a regular basis. I have my four week check this week. My eyes could never adjust to contacts. It is very odd to have something in the back of the eye. Yes, I can feel it. Onward and upward-the microscopic tube did its job. The pressure came down rapidly from 28 to 8. I will also finish my 4x a day drops.

Thank you for the great notes. Every day is very different. This morning there was a lot of pain until I took an over the counter drop for my dry eye problem. So I will be doing that a lot today, I guess.
