    Homemade bread is wonderful! So far I have been lazy, and only made it with a bread machine. Someday I'll take the time to make some from scratch.

    If you've never had fresh-baked bread that just came out of the oven or bread machine, you have no idea how good bread can be. The store-bought stuff pales in comparison.

    @VermontCathy I have so many wonderful memories of baking bread with my grandmother and mother.

    I start mine in a bread machine for mixing and rising but switch to bread pans to finalize it.

    @VermontCathy I agree store bought isn't even close. Plus the smell of fresh baking bread is amazing :)

    @Tave You are so right! Just last night I was kneading dough for sourdough bagels and I lit some candles, turned the lights off, and just relaxed!
