I've been reading a lot of depression era cookbooks and such. Trying to soak up the wisdom found there.

I love old how to manuels. The great depression is an important era to study as was the rationing of WW2.

Great sources of information! I imagine we all grew up eating some of those dishes.

Great ways to relearn things our ancestors already knew. We could find that this information will be the difference in surviving or thriving in the coming years or in the advent of a major disaster.

Some of these never left. Especially in my household.

This link adds a couple different recipes, including bread. Cabbage and noodles (Haluski) has always been a favorite of my father.
