Recipes for Sodas Using Carbonated Water
I just came across these three recipes from BC Living Magazine. They use carbonated water which could be store bought or made at home with a Soda Stream or similar machine. Ginger Ale. Lemongrass-Lime. Spa Water Soda. Just ideas to help you come up with your own combinations.
I like making homemade shrubs to use as a flavouring base for soda water. Raspberry is a favourite in our house.
Anyone else have suggestions for flavourings for soda water?

@torey I love homemade shrub drinks and raspberry anything is always a hit here. I need to make homemade soda to get away from those those sugary drinks. Thank you for the link
Elderberry mix of some sort or peach for a suggestion

I love flavouring sparkling water. A few drops of almond and vanilla extract makes something similar to Dr Pepper. I stopped buying flavoured sparkling water because it looked like the flavours were artificial.

I made a sour cherry shrub two years ago; I still have some in the back of the fridge. It's delicious with sparkling water. I also like mixing sparkling water with balsamic vinegar, especially flavored ones. That's kind of like a shrub, really.
I used to make a root beer syrup for mixing with sparkling water; I'll have to see if I can find the recipe. I know I based it off this, but I made some changes. I definitely didn't put the Italian herbs in. https://www.frontiercoop.com/recipes-by-course/drinks/homemade-root-beer

Last year I used my elderberry syrup in my soda water, yummy. Which reminds me to start making some more, since were almost at the end of our Aussie summer.

When oranges are in season I juice for a couple months and freeze some. About 1/3 juice with the rest ice and soda water is divine! Mandarins are even better but a lot of work to juice them with all the seeds.

Oh I love sparkling water! I definitely want more ideas! Thanks for posting.

I really like making shrubs with my hawthorn oxymel.

Another idea- Hibiscus tea! Or Hibiscus kombucha. Sometimes I make a pretty concentrated hibiscus tea, sometimes mixed with other herbs and/or fruit juice, and keep in the fridge. We add plain or sparkling water to individual glasses.

Learning Herbs and Rosalee just posted this recipe for a Tulsi and Hibiscus Oxymel. Should be delicious as a carbonated beverage. Its also suggested as a base for a salad dressing.

I love powdered ginger with lemon or lime--it tastes just like ginger ale, but is much healthier.
