Lesson 10: Dandelion

BTW, I just ate that little dandelion - the entire thing and it was not too bitter at all... actually a little sweet!
-
I absolutely love dandelions! I can't wait to start foraging for them ❤
-
Started another batch of infused dandelion flower oil just last week. Great for making salves!
-
I'm looking forward to the first campfire by the creek of the year, trout, wrapped in bacon and stuffed with ramps, a wilted salad in that grease of dandelions and plantains with sorrel to give everything a lemony flavor.
-
One of my aunts used to make dandelion wine. It was surprisingly good. Unfortunately I've never learned how to make it.
-
Here is a good one
-
when I tried dandelion root for the first time, I was surprised, that it is more sweet than bitter. Since then I make dandelion root infusion. A very pleasant taste. And I tried out “coffee” out of roasted dandelion roots. It was very good. However one has to be careful while roasting not to overdo it.
-
I like everything dandelion except for the dandelion coffee! Chicory root is good though, but I like it roasted light/medium, blended with dark roasted coffee. We call that Creole Coffee where i come from!
-
@judsoncarroll4 I purchase dandelion "coffee" in tea bag form. Teeccino brand Dandelion Caramel Nut has a nice flavor with a little added cream and sweetener.
-
It seems I did try that once and it wasn't bad.
-
I've been picking all of the dandelions in my backyard every day for a week and drying them. When I get enough I'm going to make some dandelion oil.
-
Dandelion coffee isn't one of my favorites either. Chicory is wonderful in coffee. It took a while to get them started, but now I have dandelions growing in my patio garden.
-
I'm looking forward to the dandelion capers!
