My Project

Hello All, I had a project for my Biopsychology course in college so I made it about herbalism's affects on cognition. I got sources from this discussion: https://community.thegrownetwork.com/discussion/846236/herbs-that-affect-the-brain-cognition#latest.

There is a lot of great information in that thread for anyone interested. Here is my project:

I am seeing this quite late...uh...early, and so will take a look at this after a good sleep.

I am so glad that you could use some of the information for your project from our discussions here!

I am looking forward to seeing how you put it all together.

@Cornelius it is very interesting what you write. And the plants you chose to cover are also my favourite plants. It confirms the usefulness of them!

My healing or staying healthy philosophy is “food is medicine and medicine is food”, thus I personally do not believe in and do not use any pills and tablets, but I use a lot of different plants as food/preventive medicine. As Dr Patrick Jones says (not an exact quote): the herb is the medicine, not what we make out of it (tea, tincture...) So why not just having rosemary as spice quite often (this is what we do) or turmeric with a bit of pepper on bread and butter (I believe that one needs some fat to absorb beta carotene) this is what we do every day...I think, if one uses a herb as such, it is difficult to overdose. How much rosemary can one eat in one go, or turmeric... The body will say “enough”. If you take pills, tablets, then you can overdose. And, if you do not take any pills or tablets, then you do not have to bother how herbs react to all synthetic stuff.

Well, I am just a herbal teacher and a very active herbal user. Not a doctor. And it is just my opinion...
