    @RustBeltCowgirl what an excellent idea. If one lives in warm climate without frost, that could replace a house, or summer house for colder climates, or a camper wan!

    I have relatives that do that for a living and have for years. Way back, you got buses or free, now they cost $$$.

    My dad helped strip one out one time and he had to weld something. It been long enough I don't remember what.

    Yes, you can really do some fun unique things with buses

    My neighbours have an old school bus that they have camperized and made into a double decker. They cut a hole in the roof of the bus. Then they took an old van and cut the bottom out of it so that only the upper part of the body remained. This got welded onto the opening in the roof of the school bus.

    There are several folks here in Alaska who have turned them into tiny homes. I couldn't do that. Can't get enough insulation in it to keep me warm at -25 or -30 even though they put little wood stoves in there.

    I have been considering using one for underground weather shelter. If I can get one for the right price, I plan to bury it underground after clearing out the interior and reinforcing the windows.... But have to find one first!!!
