Real Pain relief
Can you guys please share with me some herbs or blends that you have used personally that actually work well for pain (please include binomial name so I make sure to have the right plant)?

@nicksamanda11 could you specify the pains?

Wild lettuce (Lactuca virosa)
I think there is an ebook in the the dashboard all about it

I did two podcasts on all types of pain. I have tried most of the herbs I discussed. A couple are dangerous, and I would consider them "last resort" herbs. One I did not mention, because I've recently discovered it is coleus - good muscle relaxer and sedative. It doesn't SEEM to have any side effects, but I can't find any research on it; it is something with which I am experimenting, so I can't recommend it.

@nicksamanda11 I, too, am going to ask about the type of pain. There are many, many pain remedies but some are very specific.
Where is the pain being felt? What part of the body? Back pain? Chest pains? Stomach pains? Headaches? Is it muscular pain or bone pain?
Is this pain following some sort of injury or surgery?
Is it cramping, stabbing, piercing, numbing, pounding, aching, burning or ?????

I'll be honest I love delta 8 for pain relief. I suffer from a painful medical condition affecting my legs that can be very uncomfortable, but Delta 8 works well for me. As far as I know, it's legal in every state and can be bought in many different places.
-
We are thinking about testing a Delta 8 product. Do you think that is something our community would be interested in?

@Ruth Ann Reyes I would be very interested in testing this product. I know regular CBD works well as an anti-inflammatory but have never heard of this isolate before. I will check at a local cannabis store to see if I can purchase it. It probably wouldn't be the same brand as you would be testing in the US but as long as it is the same strength it should be easily comparable.

I've used a Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) homemade tincture for headaches and muscle aches. Haven't tried it for really serious pain. An old friend used it for post-op pain with success. Here's an article from Learning Herbs and Rosalee de la Forêt.

@Ruth Ann Reyes I'd be interested to know more about it. Hubby has a chronic condition from an injury where they fused the bones in the top of his foot causing no mobility and I'm sure arthritis. He does take medical CBD but sometimes it seems to me he could use a wee hit of THC once in awhile, especially when the weather changes.

@judsoncarroll4 coleus? Would that possibly be the colourful houseplant we grow in our colder climate? Please keep us posted.
-
Yes! It is in the sage family. Apparently, in its native country it was smoked as a mild hallucinogen. Just eating the tips of the plants, like the top few leaves, has no mind altering qualities.... at least, for me. It does seem to be a very good sedative muscle relaxer. It is very bitter, so probably good for the liver, too.
-
@judsoncarroll4 Great to know. Thanks. It's been years since I had this as a houseplant or in the garden. Will have to find some seeds now!
I'm trying to warm up to the bitter taste. I think I need a good supply of chocolate cookies as a chaser! 🤣🤣

I know I would be. I think it's fantastic stuff.

This is different from cbd. Too much and you will absolutely get high. But a low dose, for me, around 50-60 mg is very mellowing with minimal effects and a great stress reliever, pain suppressor and sleep inducer.
