it is a hot summer. I have a greenhouse with aluminum framework. So far I always had good crops of cucumbers and tomatoes. Not this year. I have already noticed that cucumbers do not want to climb the Aluminium support poles. I touched the poles. They were so hot. No surprise. I covered Aluminium by winding threads round them. It helped a bit. However it was not a solution, because the plants reached the hot frames and started turning yellow.
What support do you use for cucumbers? My tomatoes, however are quite happy, but they are on the morning sun side, while cucumbers on the south side. May be I should change sides next year...
