Plants that mean trouble

Plants that are deadly toxic to our priceless ponies.

Some of these are super scary as to the speed in which they react.

    @RustBeltCowgirl many of the plants listed would certainly be around the yards and houses of people who have horses. Hopefully they don’t have too much access, especially hedges of Oleander etc. Here in Australia, Indigofera australis is a bit of a problem, more so out west. If horses eat the flowering plant it will kill them. Apparently cyanide is the culprit.

    Interesting to know. My neighbor has horses and she mows our field for hay. We have quite a bit of buttercup in our field. I have often wondered about that because I know that buttercup isn't good to eat, but at least it puts my mind more at ease to know that when it is dried, it is less toxic.

    It's important to know and recognize poisonous plants. It's a skill unfortunately too few of us know. I'd like to keep building my knowledge base on this so thank you for sharing.
