My Basil Bloomed Today!

I got lazy about harvesting the basil and was delighted to find this bloom today. What a lovely flower! I suspect they are edible, too.

That is pretty! Mine was just about to get to that point, but I picked it and put it in some Italian sausage. The sweet taste of basil and fennel seed balance well with hot and black pepper. In fact, it allows me to make the sausage extra hot.

Basil is so prolific when it's allowed to go to seed! I love when plants reseed themselves! Lovely flower!
