It is with a very heavy heart that I am rehoming all my animals
My mothers health issues are very much up in the air and there has to be changes. Mom is taking at least 14 to 16 hours of work a day and I just don't have time to care for animals properly. I also may move for a bit as this house is really not set up for a person with mobility issues. We live over a small bank and getting out sometimes, even in summer if its rained, is challenging. So today I sit here with tears rolling down my face and try to hide it from my mom.
Listing this in encouragement may seem strange but there is always another side to any issue. I may have rehome my furry family but when one doors shuts another opens. And I am being very careful where my animals go.
I still want to have a learning center here one day and I can work on other aspects of that that don't take me outdoors and away from mom. I am (slowly) accepting the fact I may not have mom here long. So my goal is what ever time she has left is that I can make it happy.
In a world like we all seem to have now with uncertainty and change seems to be part of our lives. I guess it time to roll with the flow and figure out any positives.
I want to thank you all for being here. I have an extended family and that is a great thing.

@Monek Marie you and your mom will be in my prayers! I understand about modifying a home, I have been slowly working on my dad's house to make it easier for him, so far we have added several grab bars and I had already got him a can and a walker. I am planning on installing more grab bars on the outside so he can spend more time outside when the weather is good.

@Monek Marie it is so important to spend time with your mom. You will be in my prayers. It sometimes is hard but it is worth it. Good luck and keep us posted. We are here for you.

@Monek Marie that’s really sad and a gut wrenching decision to have to make but like you say your mom mightn’t be around for long, so you want what’s best for her. You truly are an outstanding human with a great big heart. All the best to you and mom.

@Monek Marie I will pray for you and your mom. I'm so sorry to hear that about her struggles and yours. Be proud of your strength. Enjoy your mom while you can!

@Monek Marie I'm so sorry to hear that things have gotten to this point. Slow, but sure is probably the best course of action. Is there anything that can be done with the house to make it more live-able?
You know the number, call if you need something.

I'm sorry,as I know it hurts so badly. And it's important to not get overloaded as that's not good for anyone. Prayers for peace in this change. Hugs because I care.

No, ther house sits in a hillside and can be impossible at times to get out. I need a bathroom redo, new doors just in case of fire that she can get out of faster, a leveled yard and much more. All time consuming and expensive at this time.
Thinks will work out and I may use that phone number soon.

I'm praying for you and your mom.

@Monek Marie This is the perfect place to post, because you need encouragement and support!
I can offer my prayers for you both as well. I wish that I could do more for you.
I agree with Jodie when she says that you are outstanding and have a big heart. You have blessed us so much with your knowledge and stories and we have all grown to love you. Being called extended family is an honor. I know that you care a lot for others in your area as well...a great neighbor!
Take your time, as you are able, to make sure you are taking the steps you need & want to. Cherish the time you have left.
It is also time to ask your neighbors/neighborhood for help. Don't feel awkward nor guilty when requesting it. I am sure that you have more ready assistance nearby than you realize.

I’m so sorry that you are struggling and I understand how hard it is. I will be praying for you and your mom. Some of my most precious memories are of providing similar care to several of my family members. Change is always hard but the journey itself is a tremendous reward. I hope you find the perfect situation for all your livestock.

I would like to thank you all for your kind words. It is what is grounding me at this very difficult time.

This was posted while I was having internet problems - sorry I missed it. Y'all are in my prayers.

@Monek Marie My heart aches for you. I too, feel honoured to be called family.😘
Prayers for you both and smooth transitions between the changes.

Monek Marie You and your Mom are both in my prayers. Know that you are stronger than you believe. You are a kind, generous soul and if you reach out to those in your neighborhood and community you may well be surprised at who and how many turn up to help in unexpected ways.
I have unfortunately been in your shoes more than once. When my Dad was fighting Cancer and then past away. His and the families friends were hard to find. Folks he had gone out of his way for many times. Others in the community however, stepped up to offer help in so many ways.
I cannot offer much help from Alaska other than prayers and/or a shoulder if you need to talk or even scream at someone just to relieve the stress. Please remember to take care of yourself as well.

Warm hugs to you from one that has been there. I didn't have to give up any animals but my retirement plan slowly disappeared during the 7 years I cared for my mom. I would not ever change a thing! Our moms are so special and even though it can be hard and emotional it is absolutely the right thing to do. Enjoy this very special time with her and take some time for yourself so you can stay strong and positive. All the best to you both as you take this journey together.
