Great DIY humane squirrel trap

Does it really work to relocate squirrels? I have always heard that they find their way back. I guess in my situation it is not really relevant. We have dozens on squirrels. I don't imagine we could ever get rid of them.

If you took them far enough away, like a few miles, I doubt they would come back. Unfortunately, relocating wildlife is illegal in most states. What I would do is make a few of these, paint then dull brown and green and use them to harvest squirrels for meat.

@judsoncarroll4 I was going to comment before that this humane trap would most likely mean end of life for the squirrels you would catch.
I am reading that 10-15 miles might be far enough to locate them. Some sites claim that they will quickly find their way back, or die even if the new place looks adequate, & that others will quickly take their place.
Relocation of other animals usually is also not a good idea for very many reasons.
Here is one of many sites that addresses relocation.

Nah, American squirrels at least... can't speak for others, are very tough. And, I mean do mean tough! greys and reds fight each other like crazy, drop out of tall trees, attack other animals, squeeze through pipes and small spaces. I'd toss a few peanuts or sunflower seeds in and the little buggers would be fat and happy until I found him.

I have eaten squirrel before but I would never eat the squirrels here. They eat too much garbage.
