Ready for Winter

I decided to invest in a replacement cover for my greenhouse shelves and an additional little greenhouse cover to see if I can overwinter my herbs. Got them set up just in time, as we have had heavy frost the past 3 nights here in southern Missouri.
I'm afraid the only way to save the gardenia is to bring it inside, and I don't think the cats will leave it alone. I'll throw a blanket over it at night, but it's too tall for my setup.

I hope you are able to preserve your gardenia. Your setup is nice though :).

We have had three frosts in tehr last days, a bit later for us than normal. I brought my jungle in last week - later than I should have and so far half of it is sitting in the dining room as I try to figure where I am putting it.
Hope it all works out for you.

Those covers are really nice! They look like they would hold up to the snow too!
-
I purchased large houseplant trays with wheels to facilitate my moving large plants in and out of my garage during winter days.

@Mary Linda Bittle, West Plains, Missouri those look great! I replaced some of mine this fall also. I have my garlic covered now. I got it in the ground a bit later than I should have.

Could you trim the gardenia shorter so it would fit?
-
I will look into that. I did read that overnight temps should not be lower than 65 degrees F. but I did save it through some frosty nights in the springtime by covering it up.

Well, I had to rope down the cover of the little hoop greenhouse! The wind has been howling all day and it was a challenge to create a bit of a net with garden twine over the structure. I'll do some more on a less windy day! Overall, I'm delighted with how it's holding up and how the plants are thriving!

I want to get one of those little greenhouse shelf unites to grow mushrooms in. Problem is most that I have seen for sale are expensive for what you get. Need to start looking again.

So far my rope skills are holding through several days of high winds! My plants are looking good, and it's been frosty for several nights now.
On my days off work, I open them up for fresh air and water when needed. I think it might work!
