This is a pretty comprehensive list of plants to use for burns.
One thing about cattails. You don't need to dig the roots. (yucky job in my opinion) You can peel off the outer layers of leaves and there is a goo on the inside between leaves, that works similarly to aloe.
I didn't know about rattlesnake plantain. We have quite a bit in the mountains. Good thing to know for camping trips in that area.
